Five for Friday {Linky Party}

I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching this week for 5 for Friday!

The Bachelor started this week and it is just what I needed to get me back in the groove this week. It makes Mondays a little bit more bearable when I know I have a show to look forward to.

My favorites so far are Lauren B., the flight attendant, and Lauren R., the kindergarten teacher {for obvious reasons :)}

One of my coworkers showed me the sentence strip books she makes in the spring for her kids to use and I knew I had to incorporate them into my day. I cut handwriting paper into 3 pieces, put 20 pieces together, and then staple inside of a folded sentence strip. Each morning, students come in and write a sentence about anything they want, or they can use a sentence stem I provide. I love how its become a part of our routine and is a meaningful activity for students to do as the class is trickling in. I am able to do a quick check and provide feedback for my students to help them get those conventions down!

I was so excited to be back and love on my kids this week, but by Wednesday I was feeling a lot like this:

Getting ready for next week when we will explore some problem solving strategies. I love this half of kindergarten! Our babies are working their way to first grade and are able to do so much more than the first half of the year!

Over the break, I started itching to redecorate my classroom. I'm starting out small with minor changes in colors and displays. One of the first things I decided to change is my birthday display. Click on any of the photos below to see this product in my TpT store. The posters come in 2 different fonts. {Pictures to come when I get around to hanging them up ;)}

Hope you all had a wonderful first week back!!
